ComCase G

The ComCase G is a custom integrated Mobile Access Router from Western DataCom based on the Cisco 3200 Rugged Enclosure (7-slot version). The integrated rugged enclosure maintains all the specification of the Cisco Rugged Enclosure and is completely sealed to withstand harsh environments, including high temperature variations, high altitude, intensed shock/vibration and exposure to dampness, moisture and dust.

As an Advanced technology partner Western DataCom develops its own PC/104 Plus cards and also works with 3rd party vendors to enhance the features of the Mobile Access Router. In addition, Western DataCom custom designs thermal plates for these PC/104 cards and custom end caps to expose interfaces for external connectivity.

ComCase G w/Cellular Data Modem

The ComCase G with Cellular Data Modem option is based on a standard Cisco SKU (C3230ENC-2WMIC-K9) and includes an integrated MobileCom eXpress data modem with thermal plates. The Cisco SKU is available with any combination of 2.4GHz and/or 4.9GHz Wireless Mobile Interface Cards and the MobileCom eXrpess is available for operation on the carrier of your choice. For applications that require more the 2 WMIC cards please refer to the ComCase P enclosure which is capable of housing up to 14 PC/104 Plus cards.

The MobileCom eXpress from Western DataCom is a PC/104 Plus cellular data modem based on the Sierra Wireless MC5725/MC878x 3G data card. Available for operation on Sprint, Alltel, Cingular/at&t with a future roadmap to Verizon the MobileCom XE provides a high speed, cellular data, broadband like service in the provided nationwide coverage areas (additional carriers available).

The stack above shows the MobileCom XE with thermal plates installed on the top of a typical MAR stack. An Ethernet connection from the MobileCom to the FESMIC is installed for the data path and a connection from the MobileCom to the internal wiring board is also installed for serial console communications with the modem.

With the MobileCom eXpress installed and wired the stack is reinserted into the 3200 Rugged enclosure, secured and re-sealed to maintain MIL STD 810F.

Western DataCom offers complete integration services so the end customer receives a fully sealed, fully tested cellular data enabled Cisco Mobile Access Router. Due to the complexity and training required it is not recommended for end users to install this card themselves. The completed unit is then configured and tested to verify operation and shipped to the customer in the original Cisco packaging.

*Due to the options available it is best to speak with a Western DataCom salesperson 800-262-3311 in order to determine your particular configuration.
