About Western Datacom
Founded
in May of 1982, Western DataCom was created as a joint venture upon the
merger of Western Reserve Communications and Torent Electronics. A privately held corporation governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, Western DataCom is a manufacturer of hardware based communications products ranging from encryption modems to IP mobility products.

Western DataCom is a cleared facility with all its primary employees carrying TS (and above) security credentials. Our primary customer base is the US Government, with a focus on Department of Defense. Since the events of 9/11, Western DataCom has shifted this focus to include first responders, homeland security as well as local law enforcement.
The Western DataCom product line consists of two main categories
- Standard Products - PC/104 based hardware solutions
- Custom designed product integrations
Our standard products include a wide range of communications products specifically designed for low power, small form factor mobile solutions. From IP encryption to wireless data modems, each Western DataCom product has a unique fit in the overall network mobility scheme and provides the flexibility to mix and match technologies as needed.
